Project Description
Golden Pallet Kft. was founded on 28 April 1994 by three Hungarian private individuals, two of whom remain owners of the company today. The current ownership structure evolved after the death of one of the founding members in 2014 (now four Hungarian private individuals). The company’s registered seat is located in Biatorbágy, with branches in Füzesgyarmat (two sites) and Berettyóújfalu.
The main activity of the company is Manufacture of wooden containers (NACE 1624’08), which includes the production of pallets manufactured according to various standards (EUR, USA, French II, Düsseldorf, UK, CP and VMF). The company also offers its own uniquely designed pallet families (Falcon, Swan, Hawk, Eagle, Weaver).
At the easily accessible and dynamically developing site in Biatorbágy, products are manufactured at a high technical level using automated production lines and robotic technologies.
At the sawmill in Füzesgyarmat, custom sawn timber and pallet components are produced from certified raw materials. Only certified, responsibly sourced materials are used, and full utilization of the wood material is a key objective. The company also holds an FSC® (FSC-C118653) certificate. The second Füzesgyarmat site functions as a warehouse and is also the location for manufacturing small-series, extra-large pallets.
The site in Berettyóújfalu is dedicated to inspection services, where used pallets from partners are checked for quality, cleaned, graded, and repaired where necessary.
The company pays great attention to well-organized operations, enabling continuous delivery of products in the ordered quantity and quality. Golden Pallet was the first in Hungary to use pallet-design software to meet fully customized requirements. As the exclusive Eastern European manufacturer for the only global pallet rental company, the enterprise operates in compliance with international standards and expectations.
As shown above, environmental protection, resource preservation, and sustainable production are crucial for the company. Golden Pallet is a committed guardian of environmental values. Its economic activities take place at physically and geographically separate sites across the country. The company’s management (e.g., managing director, financial and technical directors) regularly travel between the three locations. Currently, this is done using leased vehicles powered by fossil fuels. These leasing contracts expire this year, and therefore, seeking an environmentally friendly solution, the company has decided to procure fully electric vehicles.
The prevalence of electric vehicles in transportation is still low, and fully electric vehicles are not price-competitive compared to similar internal combustion engine vehicles. The transport sector is one of the most challenging to decarbonize within the economy. The use of electric vehicles in business operations enhances electrification and promotes the adoption of zero-emission vehicle usage. With the support provided, the company aims to contribute to achieving these objectives.
The planned development contributes to the components of the REPowerEU measure titled “Support for the procurement of electric vehicles by enterprises” within the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), and supports green skills, green jobs, and a green economy. It is also fully aligned with the milestones and goals set out in the RRP.
